the religious text has always constituted a fertile source of inspiration for poets and writers throughout the various eras of literature, providing creative potential through its diverse connotations and rich meanings.
Intertextuality serves as a critical criterion in literary texts; it is among the significant standards employed to trace and identify the cultural tributaries and intellectual references upon which the poet relies to enrich his works, enhancing their depth and impact. It also highlights the poet’s relationship with heritage, the ways in which he employs it, and the extent of its influence on his creativity. Through this dynamic engagement, contemporary Libyan poetry keeps pace with the remarkable literary developments witnessed in other Arab countries and secures the position it rightfully deserves.
In contribution to this scholarly pursuit, the present study is entitled: “Religious Intertextuality in the Poetry of Sheikh Abdul-Latif Al-Shuweirif.”
