Author guidelines
Conditions for Accepting Research for Publication
- The research must be characterized by an honest, purposeful scientific approach and must include the elements and standards of scientific methodology in preparing research.
- The editorial board reserves the right not to publish any research. Its decisions are final, and the researcher will only be notified with an apology if the research is not accepted for publication. Once accepted, the research becomes the property of the journal, and no part may be reproduced without citing the journal.
- The researcher may not republish their research in any other scientific journal after it has been published in the college’s journal, nor may they request its retrieval, whether accepted for publication or not.
- The editorial board will inform researchers of the reviewers’ opinions. If the reviewer requests revisions, these must be implemented within two weeks from the date the research is received.
- The researcher is fully responsible for the accuracy of citations from the references used. The editorial board is not responsible for any plagiarism that occurs in the research.
- If the researcher wishes to withdraw their research, they must pay the fees allocated to the reviewers.
Detailed Conditions for Publishing in the Journal
The research must include:
- Title of the Research: Written in Arabic, concise as possible, and clearly reflecting the aim of the research.
- Arabic Abstract: Not exceeding 150 words, along with an English abstract of the same length.
- Introduction: Should define the research problem and its significance, outline the methodology, and conclude with previous studies and key references.
- Conclusion: Including results and recommendations.
- List of Sources and References: Following the adopted referencing method.
- Length: Not less than 20 pages and not more than 30 pages, including illustrations, figures, tables, and reference lists.
- Formatting: A margin of 2.5 cm on all sides; line spacing of 1.5; font Times New Roman for English research and Simplified Arabic for Arabic research, font size 13 in the body and 11 in footnotes.
- Tables, Figures, and Images: Must have the table/figure/image number and title at the top, concise to reflect the content, with footnotes at the bottom. Tables must follow the recognized computer table format, with font size 12.
Referencing Method:
Sources and references in the text are indicated by sequential numbers placed in superscript (1), (2), (3), with the references listed as footnotes at the bottom of each page. Numbering restarts from (1) on each page. For example, if numbering on the first page ends with (6), the next page begins again with (1).
Reference Documentation:
- Printed Books: Author’s name, title of the book, editor or translator, edition, publisher, place of publication, year, volume number (if applicable), and page number.
Example: Abu Uthman Amr ibn Bahr al-Jahiz, Al-Hayawan, ed. Abd al-Salam Muhammad Harun, 2nd ed., Mustafa al-Babi al-Halabi, Cairo, 1965, 3/40. If cited again: Al-Jahiz, Al-Hayawan: vol./p. - Manuscripts: Author’s name and title, title of the work in bold, location of the manuscript, manuscript number, folio or page number.
Example: Shafi ibn Ali al-Kinani, Al-Fadl al-Ma’thur min Sirat al-Sultan al-Malik al-Mansur, manuscript at Bodleian Library, Oxford, Marsh Collection no. 424, fol. 50. - Journals: Author’s name, article title in quotation marks, journal name in bold, volume and issue number, year, and page number.
Example: Jarar, Salah: “Suyuti’s Care for Andalusian Heritage – An Introduction,” Cairo University Journal of Research and Studies, vol. 10, no. 2, 1415 AH / 1995 CE, p. 179. - Qur’anic Verses and Prophetic Hadiths: Qur’anic verses should be copied from the Madinah Mushaf (Hafs ‘an ‘Asim edition), and Hadiths should be placed within double angle brackets « » after being properly sourced.
