About the Journal
The Elmergib Journal of Human Science is a peer-reviewed, semiannual academic journal published by the Faculty of Arts – Al Khums, Elmergib University, Libya. Established in 2001 by decision of the University President, the journal is registered with the National Book House in Benghazi under legal deposit number (55/2021) and is issued electronically via the university’s website.
In 2025, the journal’s name was updated to reflect its institutional identity, pursuant to University Council Decision No. 17/2025. The journal aims to be a leading platform for scholarly publishing in the humanities at the local, regional, and international levels, under the supervision of a distinguished editorial board of academic experts.
Scope and Focus
The journal publishes original research and scholarly studies in the humanities and related fields, with emphasis on methodological rigor and precise documentation. Areas include (but are not limited to): Arabic language, English language, Islamic studies, literature and poetry, history, geography, philosophy, sociology, education, psychology, law, library and information science, linguistics, political science, international relations, music, sports, tourism, fine arts, and other relevant disciplines.
The journal also welcomes:

Reports on conferences and scientific seminars held at the university (max. 5 pages)

Verified texts, translations, and book reviews in the humanities and social sciences

Book reviews for titles published within the last three years (max. 2 pages), including author’s full name, title, publication details, page count, publisher, and a brief summary in the book’s original language.
