Self-Archiving Policy

1. Definition

el-Merqib Journal of Humanities adopts a self-archiving policy, which allows authors to make copies of their published research available through various digital platforms. This contributes to enhancing open access to scientific knowledge and expanding the dissemination of scholarly output.

2. Types of Permitted Versions for Archiving

The journal allows authors to archive the following versions of their research:

  1. Pre-print Version:
    Authors may archive the manuscript before peer review, provided that it is clearly indicated as a preliminary version that has not undergone peer review.
  2. Post-print Version:
    Authors may archive the accepted manuscript after peer review and acceptance for publication, but before the final published version, with a note indicating that it is an accepted version that has not yet undergone final journal formatting.
  3. Published Version (Publisher’s Version):
    This version may be archived after official publication in the journal, provided that full bibliographic details are included.

3. Archiving Conditions

When self-archiving, authors must:

  • Provide the full bibliographic citation of the published article
  • Clearly mention the journal name (El-Merqib Journal of Humanities)
  • Include the link to the journal or issue where the article was published (if available)
  • Not modify the scientific content after publication
  • Respect the journal’s copyright policy

4. Permitted Archiving Locations

Authors may deposit their work in:

  • Institutional repositories of universities or research centers
  • Specialized academic repositories
  • Personal or academic websites (e., Google Scholar profiles or Research Gate)

5. Embargo Period (If Applicable)

The journal reserves the right to impose an embargo period on the final published version. If applied, the duration (e.g., 6 or 12 months) will be specified from the date of publication. During this period, only pre-print versions may be shared.
