Abstract

This research addresses a specific topic in al-Tabari's interpretation, namely (al-Tabari's views on the functional multiplicity of letters in his interpretation, "Jami' al-Bayan 'an Ta'wil Ayat al-Qur'an," the first quarter, as a model). The research is divided into an introduction, two sections, and a conclusion. The first chapter briefly presents a biography of Imam al-Tabari, which is self-explanatory. The second chapter discusses the manifestations of functional multiplicity in letters (waw, aw, lam, and la).
